Musharraf Trial for Treason

It was reported from Islamabad that while the former president of Pakistan, General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf was on his way to the court on the morning of Tuesday, a bomb was recovered from his route.

The Rangers reported that the bomb weight at least five kilos and furthermore two pistols were also found in a bag alongside the road which is near National Institute of Health.

Right after the bomb was recovered the bomb disposal squad surrounded the area and defused the bomb quickly.

Former President of Pakistan, General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf was on his way to a special court hearing and was taking the same route.

The proceedings were to start today as the Islamabad High Court was to listen to everything which the former president of Pakistan had to say regarding the case which has been put on him. He is charged of treason and a single bench comprising of Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan was expected to hear the whole case.

Musharraf, on the other hand, challenged his trial and stated that it should have been through a military court as he got three petitions signed regarding the whole situation. He stated that the composition of the court is not what he was expecting and Akram Sheikh should not have been the prosecutor.
