Liverpool Tops Premier League Table

Despite the fact that they were not even considered to be the favourites to qualify for the top 4 of the English Premier League, Liverpool have still managed to cling on to the number 1 spot of the points table.

Their first team striker, Luis Suarez, is currently going through a tremendous phase in terms of goal-scoring and he has managed to score 19 goals in the season already. The Uruguayan striker has somehow managed to carry Liverpool on his shoulders singlehandedly.

Liverpool are currently playing without their first choice midfielder, Steven Gerrard, and their second striker, Daniel Sturridge. However, they have still managed to score the highest amount of goals in the Premier League, making them the team which is currently leading the Premier League charts.

The tough test for the Reds is going to start from the upcoming weekend. Liverpool will be playing against two big teams back to back. Chelsea and Manchester City, who are both in the top 4 of the competition, are going to be facing Liverpool in the upcoming weeks. While Chelsea is only a point behind Liverpool, Manchester City are level on points with the Reds.

In order to maintain the top position, Liverpool will have to beat both these teams as even a draw would mean that the other team has the opportunity to climb up the ranks.
