Musharraf’s treason case Prosecutor complaining of threats
Sunday, January 5th, 2014 11:44:41 by Hunain NaseerThe prosecutor in Musharraf’s treason case, Advocate Akram Sheikh, shared on Saturday that his family was on the receiving end of the threats from secret agencies, in an effort to derail the case against the former President.
Speaking to Geo News, the prosecutor stated that the attempts to shake the prosecution will not succeed. “I respect secret agencies but they should be aware that their cases are also in courts,” said the advocate.
“I will plead treason case against Pervez Musharraf come what may,” he further added.
The prosecutor has also asked for doctors to provide Musharraf’s blood sample to prove that he is indeed suffering from a medical condition. He also stated that everyone was aware who had Musharraf’s vehicle diverted to the hospital when he was in fact headed to the court for his hearing.
The last hearing was not the first on which Musharraf was absent. The previous two hearings were also postponed due to the former military ruler’s absence. First there were explosives found on the route he was set to take to the court and the second time he failed to appear before the court after explosives were found outside his Chak Shahzad farm house, raising security concerns.
