3 Reasons why Floyd Mayweather WILL fight Amir Khan

Firstly why should Floyd Mayweather fight at all in 2014? We all know by now that he has a super 6-fight contract deal with Showtime for 6 fights. According to an article from September last year, Mayweather himself had said he will fight twice in 2014, the dates reportedly being May 3rd and September 13th. The month of May shouldn’t be a questionable date, as Mayweather loves May & oh, surprise… (M-A-Y)-W-E-A-T-H-E-R.
Reports recently have been showing positive signs that Amir Khan will be getting his ticket to fortune, some saying it’s the equivalent to winning the lottery against boxing’s masterful P4P King Floyd “Money” Mayweather. The question however, that has crossed the minds of many boxing fans, is why would Mayweather pick Khan as his next opponent
Here’s 3 very good reasons to why fighting Khan makes sense:
He brings money to the table
Does he bring more money than Marcos Maidana? Quite clearly the answer is YES. Not only will every single boxing fan watch it in the UK but Amir Khan has a huge following within the Greater Middle East which according to Wikipedia covers 38 different countries.
He brings millions of fans that probably haven’t even heard of Mayweather before (believe it or not)
Same point as above, I’ve been to countries within the Greater Middle East as a huge boxing fan myself. Every time I drift off talking about Mayweather, I end up getting very confused looking faces, but if I say Amir Khan they automatically know its Boxing I am talking about. Therefore it would make sense for Mayweather to tap into this market to win over fans in the Greater Middle East just like he has won over a huge following of Mexicans in the past.
He will make it an exciting fight
Now, don’t say you were not disappointed with the Canelo fight – many of my friends told me with huge confidence “Canelo will win” that’s if he could land 1 shot cleanly… Mayweather was far too slick & smart for the young Mexican, I remember I yawned within the 6th round watching the fight because I knew the next 6 rounds would be pretty much identical with Mayweather taking a walk in the park whilst picking up a huge pay cheque. We all know Khan fights best outside, he makes great use of the ring – this will only force Mayweather to come forward and bring the fight to him, this is something Mayweather doesn’t do that much, although I’m not saying he cannot adjust with ease. But “if” he doesn’t adjust correctly he will be making mistakes almost like when Khan faced Maidana staying outside and causing troubles with speed and footwork.
Do you want to see Amir Khan vs Floyd Mayweather if so why? And if not, then who’s a better opponent out there for him
