Thursday, January 9th, 2014 10:05:50 by Ahmad MehdiIt has been reported from Islamabad that the special is going to give its final verdict over General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf’s medical report on Thursday. While the court decides on what to do with his medical reports, the application of the criminal procedure code against the former military ruler will be given on Friday.
General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf was to stand in a special court in order to face a trial against treason, which he committed back when he was in Pakistan. However, recently it was revealed that he is not feeling well and will have to go abroad for full inspection, check-up and recovery. His medical reports have already been received by the special court and they will give their final verdict regarding his departure from Pakistan on Thursday.
Musharraf also protested against the special court and how he should not be tried there. In return special prosecutor, Muhammad Akram Sheikh, claims that there was no flaw or weakness in the formation of the special court and the former military ruler should be tried for the high treason case.
A lawyer from the prosecution side, Dr Tariq Hassan, stated that there is a universal principle that gives power to the court to determine its own jurisdiction.
