Lahore Covered in Thick Snow

Recently news was received from Lahore that the thick fog is continuing to haunt the traffic situation in the city. The capital city of Punjab had a thick fog surrounding it throughout the night of January 17, 2014. The weather reports claim t hat this fog will continue until Saturday morning.

This fog is not only being a trouble for all the local travellers; in fact, motorway police claimed that they have blocked off the motorway for everyone since there is less visibility on the road. Cars travel at a high speed throughout the motorway and in order to avoid any mishaps or accidents, motorway police has decided to block the road altogether.

The Motorway Police spokesman also claimed that people who were travelling through motorway were shifted to an alternate route which comes through the G T Road. Special advice is being given to each and every vehicle travelling from that route and they are being asked to put on their fog lights and maintain a certain distance from all the other cars.

Traffic on the roads isn’t the only thing suffering from this thick fog. The flights which were to arrive at the Lahore airport have been diverted to other cities for the time being.
