Ahsan Iqbal: Pakistan Not To Accept US Aid With Strings
Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014 9:04:19 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Islamabad that the current minister for planning and development, Ahsan Iqbal, came out in the open and addressed the press regarding foreign aid which Pakistan received from United States.
He spoke about how Pakistan is a sovereign state and it is not willing to accept any aid for the United States of America with strings attached. This means that Pakistan will not act as a puppet to the United States after they have helped them out by providing them with their financial help and resources.
This has always been the case for Pakistan in the past eight to ten years. The public always talks about how Pakistan is acting as a puppet for the US and the government only takes action according to what US says. However, Ahsan Iqbal came out in the open and while addressing the media he stated that both the countries should respect each other’s laws on the issue of Shakil Afridi.
The European Union recently provided different concessions to Pakistan and Ahsan Iqbal also touched on this matter during his press conference. He stated that after receiving trade concessions from the European Union, Pakistan is also negotiating with America so they can provide them with an enhanced and secured access to the American market.
