It was reported from Karachi that a man lost his life while two others picked up injuries when a car became the target of a grenade attack near Karachi University. The incident took place on Tuesday night.

Sources claim that an unknown man hurried through Karachi University’s Silver Jubilee Gate. The man was covering his face with a cloth and as soon as he reached within the vicinity of the gate, he threw a hand grenade on a car which was passing by the University Road. This, in return, killed one man and injured two more.

As soon as the incident took place, people surrounded the area. The ambulance arrived on time and all three of the people involved in the incident were taken to a nearby hospital which was located at Stadium Road. The medical and legal formalities for the deceased are going to take place in the same hospital while the two injured are currently being treated in the hospital.

There are rumours which claim that the person who lost his life was Wajahat Hussain Naqvi, who was a candidate for the upcoming Local Bodies’ Elections which are about to take place in Sindh. He was a candidate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
