Lahore Police Launches Crackdown against Unregistered Vehicles
Saturday, January 25th, 2014 2:42:51 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Lahore that police have finally started the operation which was pending since the past 6 months. The police were asked to conduct crackdowns in order to get hold of all the cars which are currently unregistered.
There are several people who currently own vehicles which are not registered, which in turn means that they don’t have to pay any taxes on them. This is unlawful and that is why the government wants the security forces to take strict action against this unlawful act.
This is the reason why the Lahore Police has been trying to start the crackdown operation since the past 6 months. Now they have managed to lay out the perfect map towards catching such people and they have finally started their operation.
Dozens of motorcycles and unregistered vehicles were caught which are currently without number-plates.
On the other hand, the owners of such vehicles tried to retaliate and took their protests to the street. This, in return, caused havoc in Nolakha Chowk, where people decided to block the roads and caused inconvenience for the traffic.
Sources from the Police state that this action is taken due to the increase in terrorist activities and all the vehicles will return once the verification of documents takes place.
