Hayat Vows To Continue War against Terror in Karachi
Monday, January 27th, 2014 11:32:16 by Ahmad MehdiAdditional Inspector General of Police, Karachi, Shahid Hayat Khan has reiterated his resolve to keep up the fight against the terrorists who have made the life of people in Pakistan’s largest city and the its economic backbone miserable. Presiding over a high level meeting, attended by all the Deputy Inspectors Generals involved in the targeted operation, which has seen the deaths of many police officers as a repercussion, Hayat added that his men would not bow down against this recent wave of police killing.
“Recent killings cannot deter the Police department from taking action against the criminals,”
He also informed that police have carried out several raids in connection to these killings and have apprehended quite a few people. No details were however passed on regarding the nature and fruitfulness of the investigation so far.
In a separate statement, made after the funeral prayers of the six policemen which were martyred in the Landhi attack, Hayat announced a 5 million rupees’ bounty Sunday for any tip on the deadly attacks.
“If anyone would provide confirmed clue and tip for arrest of the terrorists involved in attack and killings of the policemen will be given five million rupees as bounty,” announced the Karachi police chief on the occasion.
“Two million rupees and a job will be provided to each heir of the six martyred police officials”.
