Maulana Fazlur Rehman lashes out at Federal Government
Monday, January 27th, 2014 11:35:25 by Ahmad MehdiAddressing a rally against Imran Khan’s provincial government on Sunday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman lashed out at the federal government for initiating the assault on the militant hideouts in Mir Ali, Miramshah and Tirah Valley.
The strikes which were made on January 21 and have officially killed more than 50 militants, seem to have unruffled Maulana, who has always been a staunch supporter of Taliban and militant factions in the troubled northern terrain of Pakistan.
The seasoned politician, on Sunday, urged the government to announce a ceasefire and work on a peaceful solution to the problem.
“The government should first implement the decisions taken at the All Parties Conference; if any one tries to sabotage peace then security forces should act against them,” said Fazlur Rehman.
It is pertinent to mention that the air strikes were carried out in response to the recent surge in terrorist bombings, and the action has popular public support behind it.
