CNG Stations in Sindh Reopen
Tuesday, January 28th, 2014 10:32:12 by Ahmad MehdiYesterday the news spread like wildfire about the fact that all CNG stations will remain closed in Sindh. People of the Southern Province of Pakistan encounter several problems once the CNG stations are closed. However, the Sindh Government decided to shut it off for one day since there is currently a shortage in the supply.
Due to this reason, all CNG stations were closed in Sindh. This meant that even the people of Karachi did not receive any gas throughout the day. This caused a lot of problems in the city. Several public transport vehicles rely on CNG, which is cheaper as compared to petrol or diesel. Therefore, people opted to stay indoors and the traffic was less than usual.
However, after closing CNG pumps for 24 hours, Sindh government decided to open them. It was reported that CNG pumps will open at 8:00AM in the morning. Now the CNG is going to be supplied for at least a week more before the CNG stations are closed again under the load management plan.
The situation of CNG supply across the whole country is worse. The CNG pumps only open for up to two to three days in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and even Balochistan.
