16 People Severely Injured after Series of Blasts in Karachi

It was reported from Karachi that at least 16 got severely injured after a series of explosions took place in the Mohammadpur Area of the city. Reports also claimed that a local Awami National Party leader was also injured in the incident. This unpleasant incident took place on Wednesday near Qasba Colony.

Reports claim that there were three explosions which took place one after another. The blasts shook the Qasba colony and left 16 people injured. After the explosions, fear and panic gripped the area.

As soon as the blasts were heard, rescue and emergency teams surrounded the area and managed to bring the overall situation under control. They did not let anyone enter the area while the wounded were taken to a nearby hospital through ambulances.

As the rescue team approached the site, unknown gunmen were seen firing at them. This is why two of the ambulances were also damaged.

The area was labelled as ‘highly sensitive’ and police, along with the bomb disposal squad, arrived at the scene quickly.

Sources in the police claimed that a local ANP leader, Mohammad Ali, was the target of the attack. Moreover, they also stated that this incident could be a result of personal enmity.
