Tehreek E Taliban Demand Helicopter Ride
Thursday, February 6th, 2014 10:12:33 by Ahmad MehdiThe head of the caretaker committee of Tehreek E Taliban, Qari Shakil, stated that currently the roads are hazardous for Talibans and therefore their representatives should be given a helicopter so that the dialogue committee can be protected from any danger. He made it clear that he does not want them to get harmed in any way.
Qari Shakil had a telephonic conversation with a member of the Taliban committee, Maulana Abdul Aziz, and stated that they are currently waiting for the early initiations of peace talks. He also claimed that Taliban want a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue.
The committees from both the parties are planning to hold these dialogues in the next 72 hours, within the vicinity of Islamabad. The clauses for the talks will be finalized at least a day before they commence.
The committee nominated by Taliban is going to formulate its demand and then present it to the government. The Prime Minister will then be asked for deliberation of these demands.
PTI’s Imran Khan has already bowed out of the Taliban-selected committee, claiming that “the Taliban had their own ideology and stance; hence they should elect their own representatives.”
Pakistan is hoping that a positive result comes out of these peace talks.
