Gilani and Ashraf Nominated Accused in OGRA Scam
Friday, February 7th, 2014 7:23:38 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the National Accountability Bureau has finally given out the names of six accused, including the two former Prime Ministers of Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf. Both these men were filed in an accountability court for the OGRA scam case.
National Accountability Bureau has a list of these people and the fraud which they were involved in. The organization that vows to bring people to justice has claimed that these six people should be punished for whatever they have done.
The references which have been filed in the reports claim that the former Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gilani, purposely and forcefully appointed Raja Pervez Ashraf and the Water and Power Minister as in-charge of the OGRA’s selection committee.
The report also claimed that Raja Pervez Ashraf recommended the incompetent, Tauqir Sadiq, as the chairman of OGRA. The reference also claimed that the Cabinet Division’s Sikander Hayat deliberately decided to hide the incompetence of Tauqir Sadiq. They believe that this enabled him to appear before interview committee.
In the most recent hearing, Raja Pervez Ashraf’s counsel claimed that no proof had Raja Pervez Ashraf’s name written on it and he did not sign a single document.
