Pakistan Wants Complete Halt of US Drone Attacks
Friday, February 7th, 2014 7:22:53 by Ahmad MehdiDuring a brief news meeting, the foreign office spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam, claimed that Pakistan’s position regarding the drone attacks is that they are absolutely unacceptable. Moreover, she also claimed that these attacks eventually kill innocent people and also violate the sovereignty of the country. She further added that Pakistan has discussed this issue with the United States and has always demanded that these violations of the territory should be stopped.
While addressing the media, the spokesperson said, “Our voice on drones has also been endorsed by the international community.”
Tasneem also spoke about the UN Security Council’s decisions on Kashmir. She said, “How can one country decide that these resolutions are not valid?”
She also claimed that the United Nations always condemns the member states for violating the UN resolutions.
Aslam stated that India and Kashmiri people are expected to reach an agreement on the settlement of the Kashmir issue. Later they will be expected to go to the UN Security Council in order to endorse that decision and bring another resolution to carry out the new procedure.
She also spoke regarding the peace talks that are going to take place with Tehreek E Taliban. She claimed that this particular issue is not for the Foreign Office to deal as it is an internal issue of the country.
