Eight Killed in Attack on Karachi Astana

It was reported from Karachi that at least eight people were killed while eleven more were injured after unknown armed men open fired on an Astana.

Police reports claimed that six armed men riding three motorcycles came and open fired on the Astana of Peer Meharban Shah Baba, located in Sector 12-D of Baldia Town, Karachi. This firing led to eight killings and eleven injuries in total.

While investigating it was revealed that the Astana belonged to the retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tikka Khan, who lost his life a few years ago. The people who lost their lives were mostly from Baldia Town while one was a resident of Shershah.

The deceased were identified as Dilbar Gul, Mohammad Ashraf, Saddiq Khan, Nazar Mohammed, Mohammed Moin, Zainab Moin, Razzaq Deen and an unidentified man. The eleven people who were carried to the hospital due to injuries were identified as Saleem, Tanveer Ahmad, Ameer Hamza Mohammad Abbas, Sajjad Ahmad, Munawar, Yasir, Abdul Jabbar, Mohammad Khan and Tahir. The peer of the Astana, Peer Syed Meharban Shah, also picked up injuries during the attack.

The deceased and the injured were quickly taken to the Abbasi Shaheed hospital for medical and legal formalities.
