LPG Prices Increase by 5PKR/KG
Thursday, February 13th, 2014 7:30:22 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) have been increased by 5 Rupees per KG with immediate effect.
Prices of gas and other fuels have increased a lot recently but this has come down as a surprise for several people. However, the reason could be the incident which took place in Rahim Yar Khan. Several gas pipelines were blown away due to a terrorist attack and that is the reason why there is a shortage of gas supply all over the country.
The chairman of LPG Dealers, Irfran Khokar, came out in the open and spoke about the raise in the LPG prices. He stated that these prices have been jacked up without any notification from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
He said that the commercial cylinders’ prices have been increased by PKR 240 while the domestic cylinders’ prices have been increased by 60.
Now the price of domestic cylinders is going to be 1330PKR and for the commercial cylinders it is going to be 5320PKR.
Irfan Khokar also brought the agenda to the government. He stated that they should take a step in order to stop these frequent raises so that consumers can be extended with some relief.
