Dengue Strikes Again in Karachi
Friday, February 14th, 2014 9:13:10 by Ahmad MehdiThe gruesome dengue fever has returned in Karachi despite the fact that Pakistan is currently experiencing winters. The disease started five years ago when the doctors and researchers throughout Pakistan claimed that there is a certain mosquito which lives on clean water and its bite can cause a fever. This fever is known as dengue and it is extremely fatal.
Since the time of its birth, dengue has managed to take several lives in Pakistan. It was extremely deadly throughout the course of 2009 as it killed thousands of people while doctors were registering several cases on a daily basis.
However, during winters this disease is expected to die down due to the fact that the mosquito finds it hard to survive in the cold weather. Therefore, not many cases are being registered all over Pakistan as the weather is still cold.
Most recently two people were admitted in Karachi because they are experiencing dengue fever. This has taken the tally of dengue fever to 101, amongst which 97 have been from Karachi. Moreover, two cases have also been registered in Balochistan. The families are advised to be extremely careful during evening and are also requested not to keep clean water storage open during these hours of the day.
