Munawar Claims Third Party Ruined Peace Talks
Monday, February 17th, 2014 7:32:14 by Ahmad MehdiThe amir of Jamat E Islami (JI), Syed Munawar Hassan, spoke to the press on Monday and stated that there was a third hand involved in order to sabotage the Pakistan and Taliban peace talks.
Pakistan and Taliban were quite close to signing a peace treaty with one another. Both the parties have been involved in an unofficial war for quite some time now and now they are planning to cease fire after several incidents have taken place. However, recently an incident took place which has put the Pakistan-Taliban peace talks in jeopardy. The FC rangers who were kidnapped by the Taliban back in 2010 were all brutally murdered and Tehreek E Taliban openly admitted that they are responsible for their killings.
Munawar Hassan claims that even though Taliban are taking responsibility of their actions, there is still a third party involved that is sabotaging the peace talks between both the parties.
He said that even the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, recently stated that whenever the talks process reach a critical stage, there is a third party that ruins everything and this may be the case this time round as well.
He ended his talks by saying, “God forbid, if an army operation is launched it will lead to horrible consequences.”
