High Court Reserves Verdict for Musharraf’s Case
Tuesday, February 18th, 2014 7:08:42 by Ahmad MehdiIt has been reported from Islamabad that even though Musharraf’s treason trial has managed to come to a final conclusion, they have decided that they are going to keep the verdict reserved.
It is to be stated that the special court, which is currently hearing the case of Musharraf’s treason trial, summoned the former president on February 18, claiming that if he does not show up, he will be charged with an arrest warrant.
The former military ruler also skipped every single hearing due to the fact that he is ill. That is the reason why his counsel has been trying to send him abroad. They claim that he should be treated in America, where his doctor keeps asking him to join in.
The special court has a three-member bench with Justice Faisal Arbab being the head. They are still hearing the case.
Most recently the three-member bench inquired Musharraf’s counsel about his health and when he is going to visit the court. To this, Anwar Mansoor said that the former president of Pakistan can only appear once he receives a clearance from the security officials. He stated that the security officials are the sole reason why Musharraf cannot make it to the court during this time.
