Supreme Court Calls for Land Allotment Policy Report in Karachi Law, Order Case
Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 2:45:22 by Hunain NaseerThe Pakistan Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry has called for the Karachi land allotment policy report under a hearing of the Karachi law, order case. The court asked the SSP anti-encroachment cell to present a report regarding the FIRs registered against the culprits.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim also inquired about the absence of Lala Fazlur Rahman, senior member Board of Revenue, from the hearing. According to Arif Aziz, SSP anti-encroachment, Lala Fazlur Rahman was ill and could not appear before the court.
Annoyed at the senior member’s absence, Justice Amir Hani asked the SPP anti-encroachment whether only sick people were appointed as senior members of the Board of Revenue. The court also enquired the SSP about the number of Firs in the land grabbing case, to which the SSP replied that he did not have the power or authority to register FIRs.
The Supreme Court bench was extremely displeased at the ignorance and irresponsibility shown by the SSP and the senior member of the Board of Revenue and asked the SSP whether he has actually ever read the law.
The Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry has been taking notice of the law and order situation in Karachi and has been asking for reports and holding the responsible personnel accountable.
