2000-KM March Nears its End in Pakistan
Friday, February 28th, 2014 4:54:26 by Ahmad MehdiIt was reported from Rawalpindi that the march which the families carried out for missing relatives in Islamabad is about to end after they have walked for 2000 kilometres throughout the country. It is reported that a 72-year-old man was also a part of this march as he is protesting against the missing family members.
There are several people who have lost their relatives without any news. People claim that this is being done allegedly by the country’s security services.
The march is currently being led by a retired banker known as Mama Qadir. He is willing to write a petition to the UN officials so that he can also meet up with the foreign diplomats regarding the situation in the country.
While addressing the press, Qadir said,
“We have no more hope in the Pakistani government, which is why we want to talk to international organisations, so they can apply pressure.”
Qadir’s son himself was gone missing back in 2011, but his dead body was later found during the year.
The marchers started watching from Quetta, the capital city of the province Balochistan. After walking all the way to Karachi, they turned their heads towards the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad.
