Taking suo-moto notice of the terrorist attack in Islamabad district court, Chief Justice Tassaduq Jillani ordered for the installation of CCTV cameras in all courts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi within 48 hours.

The three-member bench hearing the case inquired the interior secretary about the incident and the number of policemen on duty. It was reported that normally 66 policemen were posted at the court, but at the time of the attack, 47 were present.

The Chief Justice then inquired about the number of policemen who were armed, to which the Interior Secretary replied that he was unsure about the exact number of armed policemen but was certain that they had used their weapons.

Chief Justice Jillani questioned the statement that police fired at the assailants, asking why no one was caught or injured if that was the case. He then asked the Interior Secretary to get information on the number of armed policemen from the IG.

Anger over the absence of any CCTV cameras was also expressed by the Chief Justice, who asked why no such security arrangements were made despite there being threats.

The Interior Secretary also reported that police backup was dispatched within 10 minutes of the attack, which prompted Justice Khilji to ask why newspapers reported that police was nowhere to be seen for over half an hour and how come so much destruction took place.
