Fazl Ur Rehman Wants Government to Get Serious Regarding Peace Talks
Saturday, March 8th, 2014 8:27:32 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that the leader of Jamat E Islami Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman, wants the government to show some seriousness towards the peace talks that are going to take place with the Taliban.
Pakistan and Taliban are currently trying to hold peace talks but Pakistani government, according to Fazl Ur Rehman, is showing a non-serious attitude towards it.
It all started when Imran Khan stated that the Pakistani government should bring Taliban to the table and come to common ground with them.
When the Pakistan government and Taliban both made committees, the Taliban killed all the 23 FC Personnel which they held captive since 2010.
This angered the government and they decided to hold a military action in North Waziristan. There were several airstrikes which took place in the area and they bombarded several hideouts of the militants.
Fazl Ur Rehman, while addressing the issue said, “The crisis would only keep aggravating, if the practice of taking foreign dictation was not put to an end.”
He also stated that there is currently no law against religious madressas. He advised the government to strike out the provisions in Internal Security Policy in connection with the Madressa reforms.
