Mother of Islamabad District Court Suicide Bomber Steps Forward

According to the latest reports, a woman has stepped forward to disclose that she is the mother of the suicide bomber in the Islamabad district court earlier this month. The attack, which shook the capital and called into question the efficacy of security forces, left over 10 people dead, including lawyers and a judge.

It has been revealed by intelligence and law enforcement agencies that Palwasha Khan, told investigators that her son, Fidaullah, was the one who blew himself up. According to her, he had been missing since January 9 and a report had also been lodged with Iqbal Town Police Station Lahore.

The woman also claimed to know the mastermind behind the attack, revealing only that he owned a restaurant. 

The attack was carried out early morning on March 3, as reports of a hand grenade explosion and gunfire from the F8 district court came in.

Witnesses reported that the attackers continued to fire for several minutes before security forces even arrived at the scene, and while one of them blew himself up, the others fled.

Following the attack, the Supreme Court took suo motu notice of the incident and asked for the installation of CCTV cameras in all courts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
