Taliban Committee to Visit North Waziristan
Thursday, March 13th, 2014 11:01:01 by Ahmad MehdiThe Taliban Committee for the peace talks is expected to visit North Waziristan today as they are going to hold talks with the Tehreek e Taliban leaders.
The situation is improving in terms of holding the talks. It all started with an idea from the Pakistan Tehreek E Insaaf leader, Imran Khan. Then the current Prime Minister, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, also took notice of the situation. He claimed that he is going to hold peace talks after Taliban are going to observe a ceasefire.
For the first few days everything was peaceful and both the parties did not retaliate. However, later, a Tehreek E Taliban leader decided to kill all the 23 FC troops which they held captive since 2010.
This angered the Pakistani government and they decided to start a military attack in North Waziristan. Several militant hideouts were bombarded by the Pakistani Air Force. The Taliban then decided to come down to a ceasefire once again.
Now both the parties are going to hold the peace talks. In order to do this, the Taliban committee is expected to go to North Waziristan in order to meet up with the Tehreek E Taliban leaders.
The government is willing to provide a helicopter to the committee.
