Dengue Hits Karachi Again

While many people thought that they have managed to overcome this problem, but the disease is now back as a total of 128 cases have been registered this year.
The focal person of the Dengue Surveillance Cell, Dr Shakeel Aamir Mullick, was the person who came out in the open and spoke to the press regarding the overall situation which Pakistan is facing.
While addressing the media and talking about how the dengue virus has taken its toll on Pakistan, Dr Shakeel Aamir Mullick stated that a total number of 136 dengue fever cases have been reported in the year 2014. However, 128 of these cases were reported from the city of Karachi. The other cases have been from Sindh as well as one was from Hyderabad and others were from parts of the Southern Province.
He stated that this disease has also taken down victims in Balochistan where there have been two reported cases of the same virus.
While adding on to the information, he claimed that Karach is the only city where one person has lost his life while fighting against Dengue while the rest have survived so far.
