Supreme Court Orders to Produce 35 Missing
Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 12:09:03 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the Supreme Court has given a final order to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening to produce or recover the missing persons. It is being said that if these 35 people are not to be found as early as Wednesday, then the Prime Minister is going to be notified.
The case consisted of a three-member bench which was headed by Justice Jawwad S Khwaja. They all heard the case regarding the Malakand Interment Centre where 35 persons were left missing.
The court observed during the hearing how 34 other hearings which took place regarding this case resulted in absolutely nothing. The authorities have still not taken any action even though they are responsible for this.
On the other hand, the attorney general, Salman Butt, wanted to adjourn the case altogether. He stated that maybe this would show some progress. However, the court decided to adjourn the case until Wednesday.
The attorney general also informed the court that the government has already constituted a one-man commission on this matter, which is headed by Justice (Retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal. They say that this commission is going to help in tracing the missing persons.
