Pakistan Beats Australia in the T20 World Cup

Pakistan faced Australia in their second T20 match of the World Cup. After losing their first game against their arch rivals, India, Pakistan had to beat Australia in order to have a chance to qualify for the semi-final stage of the competition.

The match was quite well anticipated by the cricketing audience. Australia are favourites to win the tournament while Pakistan are always considered to be the dark horses of any competition.

The match started with Pakistan starting off slowly. After throwing away three wickets, the Akmal brothers took the centre stage and Umar Akmal scored a remarkable 94 to help Pakistan set a target of 191.

On the other hand, Australia got off to the worst possible start. They lost two wickets in the first over and it was later Maxwell who decided to carry the weight on his shoulders. The star middle-order batsman scored 74 runs to give his side a little chance to win the game.

However, Ajmal later managed to settle things down for Pakistan. He stopped Australians from scoring and was well assisted by his fellow spinners, Shahid Afridi, Zulfiqar and the fast bowler, Umar Gul.

Pakistan eventually won the match by 16 runs with Umar Akmal being the man of the match.
