Indian Air Force admits that it will be difficult to fight a war against both China and Pakistan
Friday, March 28th, 2014 3:58:10 by Hunain NaseerAccording to reports from New Delhi, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has made an admission that it will be difficult for them to deal with a multi-front war against both China and Pakistan.
Speaking in front of an Indian Parliamentary panel, the IAF stated that Pakistan would fish in troubled waters if China launched an offensive strike against India. However, they also shared that they don’t believe China would pose a collusive threat if things turn hostile between India and Pakistan.
The admissions from a senior IAF officer concerned the Parliamentary standing committee on defence, which asked that the IAF scale up its capabilities as soon as possible.
“We have made plans in case of contingency-III (two-front war),” shared the IAF officer, going on to reveal that their policy against China has also been upgraded to ‘deterrence’.
There are a total of 34 fighter squadrons with the IAF, while the desired number is 42. They are now expected to speed up their planned acquisition of 126 French Rafale fighters, which will be worth Rs. 120,000 crore.
Concerns were also raised on the military imbalance between China and India, with the Chinese having modern tech and advanced weaponry.
