The Pakistan cricket team will be returning to the World Twenty20 arena after a week off when they play the first of their two Super-10 games tomorrow, on Sunday.

The Green Shirts, under the captaincy of Mohammad Hafeez, lost their first group match against their arch-rivals India, but were able to get back into the tournament by beating Australia last week.

Now they will be facing the hosts this Sunday and need to defeat Bangladesh and then West Indies in order to confirm their spot in the semi-finals alongside India.

“The picture is clear,” said Mohammad Hafeez. “We have to win both games to make sure we are in the last four. There is no scope to make mistakes now and we are eager to get back to the field.”

According to the skipper, the team made full use of the one-week long break to prepare for the crunch games ahead.

“We have trained and worked hard for the last six days. The management and the coaches worked on our weaknesses. The build-up for the crucial stage has gone off very well,” he shared.

Hafeez also praised India for winning three games in a row and confirming their spot in the semi-finals.

“India have played very good cricket so far in the tournament. It’s good they are through, so the rest of the teams know what it will take to advance,” he commented.
