Musharraf offered secret deal according to Ahmed Raza Kasuri
Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 2:11:25 by Hunain NaseerMusharraf’s counsel Ahmed Raza Kasuri has claimed that his client was offered a secret deal to leave the country safely and stay abroad for five years.
“President Pervez Musharraf was offered to sign a 5-year bond and not return (till the date of its expiration),” Ahmed Raza Kasuri stated.
However, he further added that the retired General turned down the offer and does not intend to make any secret deals.
This news comes after the former President of the country was formally indicted by the special court set up to try him for treason. Pervez Musharraf has however pleaded not guilty to the charges and gave a long speech detailing his achievements and disputing the allegation.
Earlier, the retired general had petitioned the court to let him fly out of the country to visit his ailing mother. However, his name has been put on the ECL by the government and the court declared that it had no authority to remove it.
Just yesterday, an explosion also took place near the Faizabad flyover in Islamabad, after Pervez Musharraf was being transported to his Chak Shahzad farm house from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology. According to Police sources, Musharraf safely reached his residence.
