Blast takes place in Metro Mandi, Rawalpindi

It was recently reported from Rawalpindi that a big blast was heard early in the morning around 8:25 AM. At first the security forces were locating the area where the blast took place and now sources claim that it has taken place in Metro Mandi area of the city.

Currently the security forces, ambulances and fire brigades are all trying to reach the location. However, since it is the wee hour of the day, it is hard for them to reach the destination on time.

Every Tuesday the Metro Mandi is crowded since there is a grocery sale which takes place in the area. This is the reason why several people from across the city visit it throughout the day as grocery is sold for relatively lesser price.

The crowded area now became the target of a terrorist attack. Now the security forces are trying to figure out what exactly was the cause of explosion. A few sources claim that it could be a cylinder blast, while others state that it is an act of a terrorist organization.

Sources also claim that 14 people have lost their lives while more than 50 have been injured in the incident.

Pakistani government is already involved in peace talks with a terrorist organization known as Tehreek E Taliban and for now a solid conclusion to the talks has not come out.
