Altaf Hussain Applies for Pakistani Passport
Saturday, April 12th, 2014 5:47:34 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that confirmed sources have claimed that the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, has finally applied for a Pakistani passport. This is something which he has not done for a long while now.
Altaf Hussain currently resides in England due to the fact that his life is in danger once he comes to Karachi. This is the reason why he can’t even stand during elections and other people from his party still manage to win from the port city.
Now confirmed sources in London have claimed that the MQM chief recently contacted the Pakistan high Commission officer in London so that he can be issued a Pakistani passport.
The MQM leader is currently self-exiled from the country. He still has the expired copy of the Pakistani passport which was handed over to him back in 1991; which was 23 years back.
He flee from Karachi when PML-N came into power and launched a project clean-up. The military was sent to the port city of Pakistan in order to hold a strong operation against Muttahida Qaumi Movement. First he applied for Political Asylum and now he is a British National with a UK passport.
