Moin Khan Appointed as Chief Selector/Manager by PCB
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 11:42:05 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that the Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former Pakistani cricket captain and wicketkeeper, Moin Khan, as the chief selector and manager of the team.
A lot of talk has been going on about this position for a long time now. The Pakistani cricketing body was trying to get hold of someone who would know everything regarding the selection criteria and someone who would select a team that can work wonders, especially during the World Cup which is going to take place in February next year.
Moin Khan fulfils these criteria perfectly as he knows the Pakistani team in and out. Moreover, he has been their batting coach since a lot of time and he can try building up on the position which has been given to him.
This position has been vacant for the past ten months after Iqbal Qasim decided not to renew his contract.
Several people claimed that the former Pakistani captain and wicketkeeper, Rashid Latif, is going to take this position but he refused and later Moin Khan was given the opportunity to prove himself as the chief selector/manager.
Former captain and batsman, Zaheer Abbas, has been appointed as principal advisor to the PCB chairman, Najam Sethi.
