MQM Ministers Take Oath after Joining PPP Lead Sindh Government
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 1:27:25 by News Pakistan AdminTwo ministers belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) took oath on Tuesday April 22, 2014 after MQM decided to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lead government in the province of Sindh. Two MQM Sindh Assembly members have been appointed adviser to the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan administered the oath at the Governor House in Karachi. Rauf Siddiqui joined the government as minister for Industries and Commerece, whereas Dr Saghir has taken the Ministry of Health. Adil Siddiqui has been appointed as adviser to the chief minister on environment and Abdul Haseeb Khan has been inducted in the Sindh Cabinet as a special adviser on Auqaf.
MQM leaders Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Sardar Ahmed, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Minister for Education Nisar Khuhro, Minister for Information Sharjeel Memon, Inspector General of Police Sindh Iqbal Mehmood and AIGP Karachi Shahid Hayat were present during the oath taking ceremony.
The ex president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari had met with MQM leaders last month and there were speculations circulating among the political circles for some time now about the possibility of MQM alliance with the PPP lead Sindh government.
