The pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine in recent days have taken possession of several facilities and public buildings in Donetsk (east of the country) have proved challenging to the agreement reached in Geneva on Thursday between the U.S., Ukraine, EU and Russia the latter undertook to lay down their arms militias. But separatist rebels have said, told the BBC his spokesman, Alexander Gnezdilov, the Kiev government is “illegal ” and would not leave his position until Parliament is dissolved and the administration to resign.

In Slaviansk, armed rebel groups remain entrenched in a police station and built a barricade of tires. In the capital of the region, Donetsk, militias have underlined their challenge to Geneva agreement by sounding the Russian national anthem blaring in the streets.

One of the leaders of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk, Denis Pushilin, stressed Friday that his organization has not participated in the Geneva talks and therefore not fulfill the agreement and ” persevere ” in their struggle for autonomy region. Pushilin has made clear that the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, ” has not signed anything ” on behalf of the citizens of Donetsk but on behalf of Russia, so that the agreement does not affect them.

The candidate Yulia Timoshenko Ukrainian Presidency has come today to Donetsk, where he has met with the governor of the region, reports from Donetsk Pilar Bonet. Timoshenko, who has blamed the situation on the Russian Federation, has announced that it will interview today with the rebel leaders with one goal: to make Ukraine will not break.

The compromise reached in Geneva forcing Moscow to promote the disarmament of pro-Russian militias in eastern Ukraine. In return, Kiev draw up a constitution that enshrines the federal organization of the country and respect for all minorities. That achievement, yet to be specified, represents more than all parties predicted, even during the hours that the four leaders (Kerry and Ashton plus Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrei Deshchytsia) were collected in Geneva.

The meeting was preceded by a verbal escalation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a television interview. Also by the words of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, saying little trust in the dialogue. The insistence of the four negotiators met on Thursday during nearly seven hours in a hotel in the Swiss city, was a leap forward.

U.S. President Barack Obama has warned this morning to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that Moscow hopes to see fulfilled his part of the deal to defuse tension in Ukraine because otherwise expand sanctions against Russia. “My hope is that we see real progress in the coming days, but we can not be sure of this given the previous behavior (Russian), so we are prepared to respond if we see new interference ” stressed Obama at a press prey unscheduled.
