IPC gives Green Signal to 2014 Asian Games

It was recently reported from Islamabad that the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) is willing to give preference to national sports interest. Sources claim that they have finally given the green light to different teams who want to take part in the 2014 Asian Games. This time these games are going to take place in Incheon, South Korea. The dates for these games are between September 19 and October 4.

It is imperative to inform here that IPC currently does not recognize the body which is led by Lt Gen (retired) Syed Arif Hasan. In fact, they have made another body which is currently lead by Major General (retired) Mohammad Akram Shah. However, the International Olympics Committee only recognizes the body led by Lt General (retired) Syed Arif Hasan, therefore the crew selected by him will represent Pakistan internationally.

The Minister of IPC, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, came out in the open to explain his stance. While addressing the media he said, “We will follow the IOC Charter as we do not want to open an international issue in the world.”

While talking about the POA issue, he said, “The POA issue will also be discussed with the Prime Minister for a concrete solution and to save the future of sports and sports persons”.
