Inzamam Backs Waqar as Pakistan’s Cricket Coach
Monday, April 28th, 2014 11:12:44 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that the former Pakistani captain, Inzamam Ul Haq, came out in the open to praise the newly appointed coach, Waqar Younis.
Waqar was once the captain of the Pakistani cricket team. Back then the cricket team thrived and even managed to grab several imperative trophies. However, now the Pakistani team is lacking silverware and needs inspiration not only on the field, but in the management as well.
This is why several changes have been noticed in the Pakistani staff. Moin Khan has joined the team as the chief selector while Waqar Younis is coaching the team.
While talking about Younis, Inzamam said,
“Pakistan team benefited during Waqar’s last tenure so I think he is the best choice as he knows the players and is familiar with our culture. I think it’s about time we change the culture of changing captains and coaches after one defeat because we need to correct the wrongs and change is not the solution.”
Inzamam also spoke about Misbah and said,
“Misbah should lead the team because we have less than a year for the World Cup and it would not be possible to groom a new captain.”
