Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, Opened
Monday, April 28th, 2014 11:10:12 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, was opened as the inauguration ceremony took place with Chief Executive Hong Kong SAR C. Y. Leung heading the ceremony.
There were several Pakistani people present at the inauguration ceremony which took place in Hong Kong. He Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, Ghufran Memon, was the special guest at the ceremony.
While addressing the media, Chief Executive C. Y. Leung said,
“Opening of Pakistan Chamber in Hong Kong marks an important milestone in the business relations between Pakistan and Hong Kong, which historically carry a great potential for stronger commercial connectivity between these two countries. Through various platforms, the chamber would help strengthen links between Pakistan and Hong Kong at the business-to-business and people-to-people levels.”
He further added, “It will also reinforce Hong Kong’s role as a bridge between business sectors in Pakistan and the Mainland of China. The Chief Executive hoped that Pakistan Chamber will promote not just business links between Hong Kong and Pakistan, but also between Pakistan and the rest of the country, which is a slightly bigger market than Hong Kong.”
Javed Iqbal, President Pakistan Chamber, also addressed the ceremony and thanked the guests and the cooperation of the government of Hong Kong in establishment of the Chamber.
