Swedish Teams to Visit Pakistan for Business Ties
Monday, April 28th, 2014 11:08:56 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that the Swedish Ambassador has directly contacted the Pakistani government in order to explain to them that there are a few Swedish delegations making way to Pakistan in order to enhance the bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
While addressing at a ceremony in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce (LCCI), the ambassador stated that the first delegation is going to arrive before the second week of May. He stated that this delegation will include officials who are planning to market major global brands.
LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari presented address of welcome while Vice President Kashif Anwar, former senior vice presidents Ejaz A Mumtaz and Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Executive Committee Members Mian Zahid Javaid, Baber Mehmood Chaudhry, Talha Tayyab Butt, Mian Tasharraf Javaid, Mumshad Ali and Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam also spoke on the occasion.
Ambassador Tomas claimed that the first Swedish delegation will consist of small and medium enterprises that are willing to expand their business into Pakistan. He also stated that currently what is hampering the expansion of business in Pakistan are security issues and power crises.
The Pakistani engineer, Lashari, ended the conference by saying, “We have well-trained experts who can provide mediation services in order to settle any trade dispute out of court. I think this centre will serve as a confidence booster for Swedish business community to positively consider Pakistan for trade expansion.”
