The former test cricketer, Basit Ali, has been named as the head of the four-member staff that serves as the Junior Selection Committee.
This is the third biggest change which Pakistan has employed in its backroom staff. The first was the appointment of Waqar Younus, who is now the head coach of the Pakistani cricket team. The second was the appointment of Moin Khan, who is now the Chief Selector for the team. Now the third announcement is Basit Ali, who is now going to serve as the head Junior Chief Selector.
The other three people who are going to be in his four-member committee will include the likes of the former test opener, Ali Naqvi; former test left arm spinner, Farrukh Zaman; and lastly Ali Zia, who is representing National Cricket Academy of Lahore.
While addressing to the media right before the under-19 trials taking place in Karachi, Basit Ali stated that this is a big responsibility and challenge for him. He stated that he is hoping and he will try his best to fulfil his job to the best of his abilities.
