Gunmen take two public buildings in Gorlovka

The militants, according to news agency Ostrov wore uniforms, found virtually no resistance from the authorities of the city.
Gorlovska city of just over 250,000 inhabitants, is located about 40 kilometers north of Donetsk, the capital of the eponymous region for a month is the scene of an uprising against the government of Kiev. The self-proclaimed ” People’s Republic of Donetsk” held a secession referendum for May 11th weeks.
The Acting President of Ukraine, Alexandr Turchinov, has reacted to these operations and has held a meeting with his ministers that ” Ukraine must prevent terrorism to expand beyond this,” the agency said Frances Presse. “Our number one job is to prevent terrorism from spreading from Donetsk and Lugansk regions to other regions of Ukraine,” he added. He admitted, however, that the security forces (Ukrainian) are not ” able to control ” the situation and said that the armed forces are combat alert to the Russian “threat”, according to the Russian network RT.
The operation follows Gorlovska making Lugansk, border town with Russia, by the pro-Russian separatists. There are already a dozen cities in the industrial region of Donetsk (eastern Ukraine) that have fallen into the hands of pro-Russian activists in recent weeks. These towns are: Donetsk, Slaviansk, Gorlivka, Makiivka, Artemivsk, Yenakieve, Khartsyzk, Zhdanivka, Kirovske, Torez, Kostyantynivka, Pervomaisk and Mariupol. The latter was recovered by Kiev on 25 April.
