Karachi Flyover Still Unfinished; Irks Residents
Friday, May 2nd, 2014 9:24:06 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Karachi that the residents of Clifton are quite irritated with the fact that the flyover construction in the area is still not finished despite overdoing the expected time period.
The Sindh High Court decided to take a stay on the construction of two flyovers in the area, which means that the place has been left in ruins and it is making life difficult for the locals of the area.
There are dug-up roads and dust throughout the area and residents have complained on several occasions that this is making it difficult for them to commute from one place to another. Moreover, with one road blocked the other takes up most of the traffic which causes traffic problems for the people who are trying to travel from one place to another.
It is being reported that work on this project was expected to finish before 31st of July this year. However, Bahria Town refused to work due to its personal reasons and now the construction work has absolutely stopped. While the government is looking for another developer, no one is willing to the project and develop it.
A resident of the area said, “Bahria Town has said it will not resume work, putting a question mark on the future of the project!”
