PCB Contracted Players get Increase in Pay
Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 9:22:56 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that the Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to announce the central contract for up to 22 players. They have been delaying this announcement for the past five months. Sources also claim that the pays of these players are going to increase by 25% while there is also going to be a 15% to 20% increase in match fees.
Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board said, “The entire work concerning the new central contracts [to the players] has been completed and now it is ready for announcement, most probably on coming Monday.”
So this means that different categories in the cricket team will be getting different pays. For instance, the players who are in Category A will most likely make Rs500, 000. Similarly, players who are currently in Category B are going to earn Rs350, 000. The pay for the players in Category C has not been confirmed so far.
For now 22 players have been given the central contract which means only these 22 players are going to receive this particular bonus.
Earlier, the PCB had decided to end these benefits from the players’ central contract, which should have been announced in January this year. The amounts to the contracted cricketers are due from July 2013.
