The UKIP populist proof gaffes

For some time, the Party for the Independence of the United Kingdom (UKIP) has starred in numerous anecdotes and incidents involving episodes of racism, homophobia, mocking people with disabilities, hypocrisy, hatred of Muslims and immigrants, to cheat a little. But none of that prevented their leader, Nigel Farage MEP, become the political fashion, and placed himself at the head of UKIP surveys for the European elections this month.
In the past, the UKIP has never gone from being a protest party. When they reach the general, its appeal fades. But this time, everything seems different. Never before polls had given voting percentages above 30 % as now, but Farage has preferred to avoid the stake tempting to run for a vacant seat in the Westminster elections scheduled for just after the upcoming European and local.
Why UKIP voters will forgive what you do not forgive other parties? Some believe that the disenchantment among the impoverished British working class is so large that you is like UKIP is racist and demagogue: it is new, is against the great traditional parties and patriot. That is enough for them. Others emphasize that certain populism are immune to scandals and slips: Silvio Berlusconi or people like Boris Johnson seem stronger criticism. Maybe that explains why UKIP win this month ‘s European elections in the UK despite the following anecdotes.
Disabilities. A candidate for councilor UKIP, Geoffrey Clarke, was suspended in December 2012 for suggesting that pregnant women carrying fetuses with Down syndrome or spina bifida should be required to have an abortion because if if birth is allowed it “would be a burden for both state and the families. “
Homosexuality. In January 2013, a candidate of UKIP described sex between men as ” disgusting ” and homosexuals as ” abnormal.” Farage declared it would not expel a militant for having ” an old -fashioned view ” on homosexuality. But the president of the youth wing of UKIP, Olly Neville, he was expelled for defending marriage between same sex.
Anti-Muslim. A year ago a councilor from Worcestershire, Eric Kitson, was forced to leave the seat he had won two weeks earlier after admitting he had exchanged material offensive to Muslims on a Facebook page.
Illegal immigration. According to the Facebook page of Chris Pain, then chairman of the party in East Midlands, irregular immigrants are people who ” shoes sandals, manufactures pumps, mounted on camels, goats and fucks wearing a turban.” He said the site had been hacked, but the party expelled him.
” Godfrey Bloom. The MEP, who left the party in September 2013, deserves its own chapter. Believes that ” any small businessman with head in place should never employ a woman of childbearing age “; women today ” not well cleaned dirt behind the fridge “; feminism ” is a fad “; many prostitutes ” are because they like “; that the French ” did very well sinking the Rainbow Warrior,” the Greenpeace ship; David Cameron ” is the type of kid who used to beat me.” This man called ” Bongo Bongo land” to African countries; says the unemployed public sector should not be entitled to vote and a debate in Oxford asked a disabled defending immigration if it was Richard III, a king who suffered from scoliosis.
Hypocrisy. There are also foreigners working in the offices of UKIP in Brussels and London.
Racism. Its candidate in municipal by Enfield, William Henwood, has called on the British actor Lenny Henry to go live “to a black country ” for complaining that ethnic minorities are not sufficiently represented in the BBC.

As someone who lives in small town in NW England with a large (30%) predominantly Muslim S Asian population I read this article with some amusement. It seemed to reiterate the idea in much of the UK press both left and right wing that the ‘impoverished’ White Working class, of which I am proud to be part of, are uniformly racist, when in fact all they are guilty of is expressing concern about decades of unfettered immigration.
Much of this immigration is largely unskilled labour which only serves to drive wages down. Unlike Australia and Canada which have much stricter criteria, our town is now a dumping ground for numerous ‘asylum” seekers including, Latvians.Bulgarians, Romanians, Kurds,Somalians, Congolese to name a few. I live in a town that now has over 35 Mosques, a town described in a UK Government study as THE most racially divided town in England. Many people often feel like a stranger in their own country. The UK has historically been very tolerant but even the last Labour government now admits it’s policy of open door Immigration was ill thought out. I find it hard to imagine a situation where a small provincial Pakistani town would tolerate similar levels of Western influx.The Asian population in the UK is increasingly seeking to increase the use of Sharia Law which to me is unacceptable and many young Asian women now wear Burkhas. The Poles who have settled here are culturally more similar to the UK. If you are a fundamental Muslim the UK must be alien but instead Council notices are written in Urdu, Punjabi,Gurjarti etc. Ironic that.in Karen Armstrongs book- A Short History of Islam she describes how the Indian Muslims are disliked for their, quote ‘ghetto mentality, for having too many children and being backward. Personally I see the Muslim population as a Trojan Horse or as the Belgian VBB leader described them as a bridgehead to the Islamification of Europe. Indeed, Gadaffi once said why go to War with the West when there are 50 Million Muslims living in Europe to do the work for us.

What an absolute pile of bullshit. There are NO ‘asylum’ seekers from Latvia, Bulgaria or Romania in the United Kingdom, simply because, as those countries are in the European Union, they are not eligible for asylum. In any case, they do not need to apply for asylum, as they are as free to move to the United Kingdom as Britons are to move to Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Ireland and France, under European Union “freedom of movement” provisions.
