British Business Leaders Show Interest in doing Business in Pakistan
Thursday, May 8th, 2014 11:11:42 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from London that several business leaders have applauded the economic policies of the current government and are willing to invest in Pakistan either to start new businesses or expand the ones that are already established here.
There was a business luncheon which was hosted by the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Peter Sands, and there were several business leaders who attended this formal meeting. Most of the British investors present at this platform revealed that they are planning to pay a visit to Pakistan so they can analyze how they can utilize the market potential of the country.
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, is currently out on an official tour to UK where he was able to attend this formal lunch. He focused his talks on urging the foreign investors to utilize the opportunities which Pakistan has to offer.
A statement for Pakistan High Commission revealed, “The British government was represented by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi. The discussion mainly focused on Pakistan’s economic revival and investment friendly environment.”
There were several business elites who were present in this luncheon and prominent ones include the CEOs and representatives of the British American Tobacco, Partners Group, GDF SUEZ , Bestway Group, Reckitt Benckiser, Unilever, Premier Oil and Shell Pakistan Ltd.
