FBI Agented Arrested in Pakistan Freed on Bail

Joel Cox was arrested by the security forces when he attempted to board a commercial fight from Karachi to Islamabad carrying bullets and a knife in his luggage. He is facing charges under the anti-terrorism laws.
The court granted the bail on payment of surety bods worth Rs 1,000,000. FBI agent is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday. The judge also ordered him to appear in the court for further hearing of the case.
Joel Cox was later released from the police station after depositing the surety bods of one million rupees.
The United States Department has confirmed that Joel Cox Eugene is a Federal Burueu of Investigation (FBI) agent working on an assignment in Pakistan.
The agent was in Pakistan as part of a multi-agency effort to help the Pakistanis investigate corruption,” he was not armed and apparently forgotten the bullets in the baggage, the official said.
Meghan Gregonis, the spokeswoman for US embassy in Islamabad, has said that we are working with the Pakistani officials closely to resolve the matter.
“We are aware of the reports, and we are coordinating closely with Pakistani authorities on the matter,” Meghan Gregonis said.
