Wednesday, May 14th, 2014 2:11:50 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Islamabad that the Minister of State for IT, Anusha Rahman, came out in the open and claimed that the e-office suite can be a phenomenal achievement for the IT ministry and also the present government. She claimed that this is going to ensure efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness and even good governance.
The e-office suite is used for the automation of all the core businesses being done by the government. She believes that this is going to bring transparency and accountability in the decision-making areas of the government policy making. Moreover, this is also going to provide an extremely efficient and cost-effective public service.
She said that a paperless environment is going to make up a digital governance concept, something which has not been introduced in Pakistan ever before.
There are 6 total modules of the e-office suite. For now it is going to be implemented in the Ministry of IT, the Prime Minister Office, National Assembly, Secretariat, Ministry of Science and Technology, Finance Division and also the Planning Division. Later on, once the success of this paperless policy is seen, it will also be implemented in all other Federal/Divisions in a phase manner. This whole process is expected to get completed before the end of the year.
